Choices

I just saw Woody Allen's Match Point. I really liked the opening symbolism . It could go either way, over the net for a point or it falls back for a miss. It's  all about luck.  Luck could be the difference between success and failure, all things being equal, a very thin line. Bad luck, screwed , good luck, could mean the good life. Of course, the main character was consumed with lust but when it came to choices, money and murder beat out lust.. The way Scarlet Johansson looked, I would have probably gone with lust. Just lay around the rack all day and contemplate the possibilities. Die happy, juiceless. No melons needed here.

Hey, Big Pink

What do you do or think when leaving for work in your car and prior to exiting the parking garage
you spot a large pink object in the distance? Of course, you drive up for a closer look, as my buddy Chris Wahlberg did on that fateful morning. Wow, a giant latex pink dildo, sporting black tire marks
from an obvious hit and run. Thought- that baby will clean up good. Back at his studio the beast is put on display. Photos are taken. What a find. Love to know the history on that bad boy.

Back To School, Fool

We all have heard about how some Americans cannot point out Washington, DC on a map. So here goes one that happened a week ago. My wife, Kathy, has an Ebay store and buys and sells vintage  items. Kathy bought an item from a lady and it took six weeks to finally get the item after repeated emails. Her excuse for being so late "not used to that international shipping". It's not Mexico dumb ass, it's a fricking state in our great nation.

Dumbing Down

The big uproar this week was the realization that the high school dropout rate is approaching 30%
nationwide. Time magazine's cover title, "Dropout Nation", got Oprah motivated. Think about it. If 50% of Blacks and Hispanics dropout and the nation's average is 30% how does that bode for the future of this country? Figure in that the Hispanic population is exploding and possibly in the future the dropout rate will approach 40%  as a nation. Let's be fair, this statistic includes a large number of white students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Back in the day dropouts were fairly rare. Either a girl got pregnant or maybe a guy had to go to work to help the family. Why is this happening? School is just too boring, "why do I have to learn all this stuff". They cannot see the relevance and prefer to choose other options, like hanging out, drinking, sleeping-in, doing drugs or just being lazy. The school system  certainly needs to revamp but you have to question, "why the lack of motivation". The backbone of this country was a hard working, striving middle class which is shrinking as each year goes by. Are we becoming a nation of haves and have nots? Sure looks like it, and soon.

Islamic Reality

Iran today just painted Israel as the enemy that needs to be eradicated. The US and Israel are connected for a lot of reasons and that is not going to change. Do we not agree that radical Islam is a threat? Islam thinks it should be the superpower. Islam is God's choice. If you think Iraq was the
defining point well think again, as this Iran situation is the real thing. It will end ugly for someone.
When the White House says no way, do not bet on it. If things do not change bombs will be sent.

Excedrin Headache # 12

Wow, 12 nails to the old noggin via nail gun by Oregon druggie and still alive. Now, that's something. Wonder how they felt going in? Obviously not that bad as the dude reloaded with larger nails at some point. That meth must be one hell of a pain-killer. A video of this would be worth it's weight in gold if you could stand to see it. Come on somebody, give the guy a real gun.

Noble Talks New York

Most of my friends have never lived in the Big Apple. I did in 1981 and 1982. Always wanted to do that. So I jumped at the chance. When I got married in December of 1981, my new wife Kathy joined me. I was the NYC rep for DeSort Film, Venice, Ca. and we had a company loft on Bleecker Street, in the West Village, right across from the infamous John's Pizza. Is it a zoo, yes, but there's magic in them streets. I remember one evening we were eating at a new found Italian eatery on Hudson Street. The chef/owner was short on help. I said "Kathy, help the dude" A few minutes later  she was in the kitchen  helping cook and serve. The owner was eternally grateful and we always got a great table when we showed up. I have other stories, prior to my marriage, in NYC but that will not be told here. It's a go for it place and I love that. It's pure energy. It can wear you out or inspire you. Either way I love it. Would live there again in a ______ minute.

What to do with Iraq

Okay, I was for kicking Sadaam's ass. The guy's a fucking criminal. Should be brought down. Let me at him. I have a plan for this mess.  Iraq, you have 12 months to get your shit together. We will pull out and let you religious fanatics figure it out. Do you want a country? Or is pain and suffering your  shit-life goal. Give up that religion shit. It's barbaric. God is suppose to be about good. Before we leave, I would send in  gunmen to take out Sadaam and  his cohort . He's guilty, do it. Don't let him  survive or  we have  wasted it all.  Soldiers died in vain. I would be pissed at that. Very mad if he survived.  Give me the gun, I'll do it. Walk right up and pull that trigger.

Roland Burris, US Senator from Illinois

What a crock of crap, the lying weasal is. Anybody who names his son, Roland Jr. and then his
daughter Rolanda has visions of self importance way out of wack. I suppose another son would have been Roland III and another daughter Rolandra. Should have known the little man had visions of grandeur.
Who builds a big ass mausoleum in his honor years before dying and inscribes his accomplishments
on it with possible room for more. The idea of adding US Senator was too much for him to ignore, thus the lying weasel campaign began. You could only make this happen in Illinois where lying weasels
run free, even incapable milquetoast lying weasels like Burris.
